Description

Flowers: Large, trumpet-shaped blooms (7-10 cm across) with 5 rounded, overlapping petals that are pink to reddish-purple, often more intense in the throat. They open from burgundy-brown buds and bloom on new growth. 
Leaves: Glossy, bright green, and typically arranged in whorls of four. 
Growth Habit: Can be grown as a climbing vine or pruned into a shrubby form. 
Size: Can reach about 2 meters tall and 2-3 meters wide as a shrub, but can grow much taller when climbing. 
Habitat: Thrives in tropical and subtropical climates. 
Other Names: Also known as purple allamanda, violet allamanda, pink trumpet, and red bell, according to Peppyflora. 
Milky Sap: Contains a milky sap that can cause irritation or itching when the plant is broken.
